Some people eat to live, others live to eat. I fall 100% into the latter! I was so excited to try my first Love With Food box. As a Food Scientist, I pretty much spend my whole life talking about or thinking about food. If I'm not trying to figure out what to feed my family or son, I am working on a project related to food. It's quite awesome.
This Deluxe Love With Food monthly subscription box was chock-full of delicious new products that I have not yet seen or tasted. I found several new products that I will definitely be purchasing next time I am at the store. I had the opportunity to attend the Fancy Food Show last year in San Francisco, and these products are exactly they types of items that were shown at the convention.
Let's start with the steam gourmet parchment and seasoning kit by Simply Organic. This is what I have pictured above. I purchased the chicken breasts, and this kit has the seasoning and parchment bags included. I placed the chicken on a plate, covered it well in the seasoning, and then placed it in the bag. I folded over the edge, and baked for 35 minutes. The chicken came out perfectly! It was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There were two sets of parchment and seasoning in this kit, so I will be able to make more chicken at a later date. What a great concept!
For dessert, after our steam gourmet chicken, my husband and I shared the Belgian Boys Choco Liege Wafel (pictured below). Let's get this straight - waffles are awesome, and chocolate is a basic necessity for life. Marry those two together, and you have an extremely decadent dessert. A+ for this waffle!
I always need a hearty collection of snacks in my desk for when those 10:00, 11:00, 2:00 and 3:00 snack cravings hit! I busted out the Crispy Thins by Natural Sins and the Plantain Strips with Sea Salt by Artisan Tropic the other day. The Crispy Thins were of the beet variety - they were a beautiful deep red color and tasted oh-so very good! The plantain strips were the perfect amount of sweet and salty. Love these both! Also in my desk, I had the Nature's Path Flax Granola. This had a pumpkin spice flavoring that was out of this world! Another seedy blend, Maple Sugar Sea Salt Pumpkin Seeds from Super Seedz, did not disappoint! Pumpkin seeds are my new favorite - I always have a bag on hand for salads and other side dishes.
PopChips Boardwalk Kettle Corn hit the spot for a quick, light snack. I love extruded snacks! Since they are so light and airy, a serving feels like a lot of food. And the seasoning on this product kept me wanting more. I barely even got to taste the Cake Batter cookies by Mrs. Thinsters. These were basically gone as soon as I cracked open the bag. They were light and crumbly, and definitely delivered on that cake batter flavor.
Theo and I went on a walk last Saturday and I grabbed my peanut butter cluster bar by Jimmy Bar. I am a huge fan of nut butters these days, and this clean bar hit the spot right before our 1.5 hour walk around town. Another bar that was perfect between meetings at work was the savory bar by Mediterra. It had a sweet citrus note that was refreshing.
One of the first things that I opened in my Love With Food box was the Dark Chocolate Bar by Baron Chocolatier. I about melted when I tried this bar. No wait! That was the chocolate! Ta-Die-For! I also thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Salt Caramels by Liddabit Sweets. Yum Yum and Yum! There was a nice ratio of sea salt to caramel - these were gone quickly! Two other tasty treats included in this box were the Yummy Earth googly grape organic lollipops and the stellar strawberry non-dairy fruit and veggie blend from Ruby Rockets. This blend was fantastic in the fruit smoothie that I made the other day. High in flavor, it added zest to my regular blueberry and strawberry smoothie that I often make. Overall, my first Love With Food box was amazing. I cannot wait to try the box next month - the food companies that participate in this subscription service have me hooked!
