Over the years, especially since having children, I have come to realize how important it is to make time for yourself. This can mean many different things for different people, ranging from a quite place to read, a few hours out alone to shop, getting a pedicure, or taking a fitness class. For me, my method of relaxation and placing focus on my mind, body, and spirit is through the classes offered by The Dailey Method in Elmhurst, IL.
I took my first class with The Dailey Method in Elmhurst a few weeks ago. The first person who I met at The Daily Method Elmhurst was Marlissa. She took me on a welcoming tour before I joined, where I learned that their studio offers a variety of barre and cycle classes. She showed me the ins and outs of the amenities that The Dailey Method Elmhurst offers for their members.
I have now met several instructors and the studio owner, Gina. They each have amazing personalities, and bring different unique elements to their classes and the studio.
The Dailey Method Elmhurst is all about community. From the second I walked in, I immediately felt like family. I could see all the members conversing with one another and can see the real connections that the women have with one another.
My first barre class was with Michelle. I have since taking classes with Eileen, and Kristi. I have loved each class. The barre studio is warm and welcoming. Each instructor has used a variety of equipment such as weights and bands to make the class their own. I feel mentally relaxed during the classes all while getting a fantastic strength workout.
New to The Daily Method Elmhurst is their cycle studio. Have you ever taken a cycle class? These classes are powerful. I have take classes with Jori, Sara, and Eileen - each one has been fantastic. One thing that Sara said during class that resonated very strongly with me was that “Change doesn’t happen in your comfort zone”. This is so very true with fitness, and many other things in life. I can relate strongly to this statement. Her encouragement caused me to cycle faster in that moment.
Having two children can make if difficult to make time for classes. Another thing that I love about The Dailey Method Elmhurst is that they have a childcare room. When I make my class reservation, I also have the option to reserve the childcare room during certain times as well. This has been a fantastic service offered by their studio.
My kids love playing in this room with the other kids while I take an hour for myself. There are many toys to keep them entertained while I take a class. Without this service, it would be difficult for me to make it in on certain days, but The Dailey Method Elmhurst has this covered!
We all know how important it is to make time for ourselves. Happy mom = happy family. I encourage you to pick one or two things that allows you to re-center yourself, and make time for these things several times per month. My current go-to are barre and cycle classes at The Dailey Method Elmhurst. Will you join me?
