Has it really been a month since our sweet girl made her debut?! It has! And my-oh-my has time flown by. When I take a look back, we have done A LOT in the last month - our daughter has been a busy girl!
It all started with an early morning arrival. After 12 hours of labor and 1.5 hours of pushing, we heard "It's a Girl!". We were in shock, and to tell you the truth, I am still in disbelief that I get to be the proud mom of both our son and now, our daughter.
We spent less than 48 hours in the hospital after her arrival. In that time, she saw many doctors and had lots of routine tests. Newborn photos were also taken, which I will cherish forever!
She immediately met her siblings once she came home. Due to the flu epidemic, our son was not allowed to come to the hospital (per their policy) to meet her. He had to wait until we came home. He was instantly in love.
Our four-legged daughter was STOKED we brought another tiny human home!
Meeting Her New Fam
Our daughter has met so many friends and family members in her first month, including her great-grandmother. We are lucky enough to have four generations!
Right now, feedings take up about five hours of each day. The first few weeks were pretty stressful when it came to feedings, but luckily, everything has gotten a lot better in the last two weeks. She is an all-star eater and is three pounds heavier than her birth weight. In her first month, she has graduated from newborn diapers to size 1, and from newborn clothing to 3-month sizes. She is in the 90th percentile for weight, which is higher than our son ever was.
Obsessing Over Every Ounce
The house is still under construction, but Gwen has been very involved with the decisions made since her arrival. She helped us to pick out the kitchen and bathroom countertops, along with paint colors and all of our lighting and ceiling fans. She has great taste!
Seeing The House For The First Time
Shortly after she came home, she had her first bath, which included lots of big brother snuggles once all was done.
We've had two doctor appointments, one for a well-baby check and another for diaper rash. My son has come along to each one for support of his sister. He genuinely seems to like helping with everything. Except for throwing away diapers. Don't even get me started on his naughty diaper chucking whenever I make the request!
Baby girl has attended three parties this month! A first birthday, a baby shower, and a sprinkle, which was thrown by my MIL.
We have also had LOTS of snuggle time in the past month. She loves to be with her mom and dad!
She is much more alert than she was when we first brought her home. She has been awake more and more compared to those first few weeks. She is already looking different after just one month of growth.
After one month, she is already developing a tiny personality, and the best way I can describe it is cool, calm, and collected. I'm a little sleep deprived, but who wouldn't be after only clocking four-hour stretches at a time?!
Month two, here we come. Can't wait to see what's in store!
