Our second is due in less than four months, but because of the current state of construction of our new house (see below, 2x4's anyone?!), I do not have a nursery to decorate at the moment. Therefore, I have been living vicariously through my good friend who is expecting her first just seven weeks prior to me. Her woodland creatures nursery is complete, and it's nothing short of amazing.

Our Nursery Is Currently Under Construction

When it came to designing her nursery, my friend wanted to stay fairly neutral. As you can see, her theme centered around woodland animals, Northern woods, and outdoor decor. She kept things classically beautiful with a white, black, and green color palette.

When it came to nursery paint, she opted for one painted plaid wall for the crib to sit against, and then one wall that has gorgeous fern and eucalyptus leaves by Urban Walls. This wall decal pack includes a few different fern and eucalyptus leaf variations that can be layered in various ways to create a variety of looks and designs.

If you are looking for a buffalo plaid or buffalo check nursery wall, this is definitely one way to do it. This wall does not have the traditional red and black buffalo plaid colors, but instead, it has Benjamin Moore White Dove, Black Tar, and the Black Tar made to be 50% lighter. I must say, it came out amazingly well!

The crib was passed down and painted to match the decor.

There are many varieties of hexagon wooden shelves that can be used to decorate behind your crib. These hexagon shelves can be found on Amazon at a great price. I also love these reclaimed wood shelves that would give a more rustic look to your nursery.

The adorable fish garland (below) can be scooped up here from Target. And so can this nursery-perfect Oar Plaque with hooks along with this Seek Adventure sign by Pillowfort. These wall accents are perfect for any woodland, adventure, or outdoor themed nursery.

I absolutely love my friend's rocker choice for her nursery. Her decor is simple and beautiful.

This gray tripod floor lamp can be found here at Wayfair, and the acrylic bookshelves can be found on Amazon. I love the use of these invisible floating shelves because it allows all of your nursery books to be prominently displayed. You, too, can design an adorable nursery just like this one. I cannot wait for our house to be finished so that I can decorate both my two-year-old son's room and our new baby's room. I am beyond inspired after seeing my friend's outdoor woodland animal themed nursery come to life over the past few months. Happy decorating!
