I am addicted to house plants. They are the perfect home accent for any room. I have several minimalistic house plant decor ideas for you, and suggestions for everything you’ll need to get started. If you’re wanting to have minimalistic green house plant decor in your home, then this is the spot for your house plant inspo.

If you’re going to have house plant decor in your home, get used to the fact right now that you might kill a few plants before finding the right plants for the different areas of your house. I tried so many time to make a house plant work in a specific corner of my daughter’s room, but it never worked out. Four plants have perished in that dimly-lit corner, but now that I have a new spot for her plant in her room, it’s thriving!

I created this rolling herb garden, which to date is my most read blog post. My husband built the indoor rolling rack for the plants, but you can scoop a rack on Amazon at a great price.

I recently moved our rolling rack to another area of our home that has some very bold wallpaper. This wallpaper and these plants are a perfect match!

I recently replaced a dying palm with this corner plant. This planter came from our bedroom, but it is such a good fit between our cabinet and the back wall of our house. This spot gets tons of light so hopefully this plant will thrive for a while. To me, if a plant lasts for over a year, that’s a win!

There is only three plants that have lived for the entire duration in our new home. One of them is this safari palm in my son’s room. It goes perfectly with his room decor, and it must get just the right amount of light that it needs to thrive. It’s been alive for 2+ years!

My number one tip for having house plants is to water them. It’s key for their survival (but of course you knew that!) I got too comfortable with how well our bedroom palm was doing, and it slowly browned out. It was gorgeous when it was in it’s prime!

It took a while to find a great new palm for our room. My husband happened to be in Home Depot on a palm delivery day, and he scooped up this 9 foot monster. It’s a beauty and I promise to water it and keep it alive!

Plant watering day is always a production. I do it every Sunday. My kids love to help, so I have little watering cans for them to use on plant-watering-day.

Your bathrooms want plants too! If you have natural light in any of your bathrooms, put a perfect-sized plant in any spot to make minimalistic decor pop.

As you can see, I’ve moved this rolling herb garden all over my home. Today, it sits in the wild wallpaper room, but it looked great in this spot too. I love having fresh herbs in the house, so an indoor herb garden was perfect for our home.
