From a Tick to 16.8 Million Views — And a Feature on People.com

A Tick?! On Tiktok?!

Back in May, I posted a video on TikTok asking, “What kind of tick is this?!” I had just pulled it off my son and wanted to know if people thought it was a deer tick (which can carry Lyme disease) or a dog tick. The response was wild — that first video racked up over 130,000 views.

In the comments, someone suggested I hang on to the tick just in case. So I did. And six weeks later, to my complete shock, the tick was STILL ALIVE in the same little bag I had put it in. Naturally, I posted an update showing off this tiny survivor… and that video exploded — 16.8 million views and counting.

A few days after posting, I was digging through my DMs (mostly filtering through a sea of sugar daddy scam offers — seriously, why is that always the vibe?), and I spotted a legit message from an editor at People.com. We set up a time to chat, and today, the story officially dropped.

Check it out here on People.com.
