To recreate the sequin snake motif from Taylor's concert outfit, purchase a pack of sequin snakes from Amazon. Look for ones that closely resemble the design on her costume. These sew-on appliques have Prime one-day shipping options. You'll need 3-5 of these snakes to complete the look. Arrange them strategically on your bodysuit to match Taylor's outfit.
Step 2: Get the Black Body Suit
Order a stretchy black body suit from Amazon. Make sure it has both legs and arms (you’ll remove one of each later) as Amazon has many different styles. It will hike up higher once it is cut, so you want to give yourself extra length. You can always take more length off later - leave at least three inches of extra fabric than where you think you want the hem to land. For the sleeve removal, I removed it about one inch away from the seem. It was easy to then tuck the excess fabric underneath the hem.
Step 3: Additional Red Sequins

I recommend picking up a pair of black boots that you will be able to get many uses out of. Try these platform Black Doc Marten Boots. I have them and I wear them at least two times per week. They are incredibly comfortable and give me another couple inches of height.

For the snakes and red sequins, I asked my master seamstress for help. Aka, my mom! She hand stitched the snakes on using the stretchy thread. It’s difficult to push the needle through the middle of the sequin snakes in my blog post, so she stayed close to the applique edges when stitching. My mom made big stitches. There were about 2 inches in between each stitch - enough to hold the snakes on and allow the fabric to give as I pull the stretch suit on and off.
The red sequin stretch stripes are much easier to sew on than the snakes. The needs passed through that material more readily. For the leg pattern, I played around with different designs before my mom made the final stitches.
